PENDAHULUAN Keberhasilan suatu usaha sangat ditentukan oleh faktor eksternal dan faktor internal. Faktor eksternal meliputi situasi perekonomian, kebijakan pemerintah, perubahan lingkungan persaingan, serta perubahan selera konsumen, yang sulit dikendalikan oleh suatu usaha karena keberadaannya di luar organisasi. Faktor eksternal semakin kompleks dan tidak dapat diprediksi, sehingga suatu usaha semakin sulit untuk mencapai dan mempertahankan kesuksesan organisasi (Church and McMahan, 1996; Zeffane, 1996).
